Court tosses punitive damages against Big Tobacco

The Supreme Court just threw out a nearly 80 million dollar punitive damage award against tobacco giant Philip Morris, signaling a major blow to tobacco plaintiffs. The Supreme Court believes that punis should be more in line with actual damages, which I think is absurd as it defeats the whole point of punis. It was a 5-4 decision.
